Introducing VIQRC Level Up
The next generation of competitive robotics has officially arrived.
The VEX Robotics 2026–2027 VEX IQ Robotics Competition game, Level Up, has now been officially revealed, bringing a completely new style of engineering challenge to students around the world.
At XROBOT Academy, we see every new VEX season as more than just a competition game release.
It is the beginning of:
New engineering ideas
New robot designs
New programming strategies
New innovation challenges
New opportunities for students to grow
What Is Level Up?
Level Up is the new 2026–2027 VEX IQ Robotics Competition game played on the standard 6 ft × 8 ft VEX IQ field. The challenge focuses on scoring beanbags into goals positioned at different heights, introducing a major emphasis on vertical engineering, precision scoring, and advanced robot control systems.
Unlike previous seasons that focused heavily on horizontal game interaction and object cycling, Level Up introduces a much stronger vertical gameplay element.
This changes everything.
Students now need to think about:
Lift systems
Height optimization
Stability
Accuracy
Fast scoring cycles
Efficient autonomous routines
Robot balance and center of gravity
Strategic game planning
Why This Game Is Exciting
Level Up appears designed to encourage more creative mechanical engineering and smarter strategic gameplay.
Many teams will need to experiment with:
Elevator mechanisms
Catapult systems
Vertical intakes
Precision alignment systems
Multi-level scoring strategies
Faster autonomous navigation
Driver-control optimization
The game rewards not only speed — but also intelligent engineering design and consistency under pressure.
For students, this becomes a real-world engineering experience where iteration, testing, debugging, and optimization matter.
More Than Robotics Competition
At XROBOT Academy, VEX competitions are not simply about trophies.
They are about developing:
Engineering thinking
Leadership
Teamwork
Communication
Creativity
Resilience
Real-world problem-solving skills
Students learn how to:
Design under constraints
Prototype ideas rapidly
Analyze performance
Improve systems through iteration
Collaborate effectively in teams
Present engineering concepts confidently
These are future-ready innovation skills that extend far beyond robotics competitions.
